In addition to business performance, Matthew’s role as a co-founder and CEO of Domec Professional Services is predominantly focused around leading expert consultant teams to deliver core market offerings relating to property & construction related Legal Solutions & Dispute Resolution.
Matthew has undertaken a wide range of post-graduate training & qualifications in legalistic areas of practice & risk mitigation including alternative dispute resolution, independent expert, expert witness, expert determination, contract solutions, high value dilapidations & settlement claims, neighbourly matters including all areas of boundaries, party wall & access matters & building defect claims as well as safety & environmental enforcement actions. Matthew regularly briefs & works alongside appointed counsel in relation to high value property actions.
Matthew's main role involves sitting in a variety of adjudicative capacities. He sits as a panel adjudicator for each of the leading presidential construction and property related panels and is a registered & highly experienced mediator.
Matthew has developed professional specialities in an array of commercial construction and property law related areas of practice as well as related academic research. He leads the teaching of postgraduate construction and property law at University College of Estate Management (UCEM) as a lecturer of law on a part-time basis. Matthew is currently undertaking an academic PhD in construction & property law & construction related alternative dispute resolution with Liverpool John Moores University.

Notable Achievements
Matthew was elected chair of the RICS North West UK board from 2014-2018 & remains a committed member of the board.
At the age of 31, in 2019 Matthew became the youngest person in the North of England in RICS’s 150-year history to be awarded fellowship, RICS’ highest level of qualification, held by only approximately 5% of surveyors internationally with an average age of 60 years. In 2020 Matthew was elected an appointed member of the RICS President's pannel of Adjudicators, one of the youngest professionals ever appointed to the Panel in RICS' history.
Matthew is the current HHJ Roger Cox Scholar having been very recently awarded this prestigious named scholarship by the Hounourable Society of Gray's Inn. He was previously also awarded the Edmund James Lawson QC Scholarship from the Inn making him one of a limited number of double scholars. This denotes Matthew's dedication and committment to construction and property related law and dispute resolution. He has previously been awarded RICS' international surveyor of the year overall title & surveyor of the year in asset & facilities & dispute resolution award categores.
Matthew is a lecturer in Law at UCEM for post graduate students and specialises in Law of Contract and Law for the built environment and property. He is a regular commentator in industry press & speaker at related conferences & events. Matthew has recently appeared as a speaker at alongside BBC’s Clare Balding & Will Gompertz at conferences such as RICS’ Building Surveying conference, Facilities management conference & ECO-Build London Excel with audiences often ranging from several hundred to in excess of one thousand people. Matthew has undertaken lectures collaboratively with other professional bodies including the Law Society.
Matthew is a member of the Liverpool John Moore’s University Industrial liaison committee & regularly undertakes university lectures in commercial, property and construction law & provides training & support to undergraduate students studying property related disciplines and in aspects of commercial construction law and dispute resolution.
He also acts as an RICS "APC doctor " advising Surveying candidates nationally in preparation for sitting RICS assessment of professional competence professional examinations & to encourage greater diversity & access to the profession. Matthew was an original signatory to the RICS Inclusive Employer Quality Mark.
Matthew is a Patron for LandAid - The property industry charity. The Land Aid Patrons network seeks to connect the top 100 property industry leaders and contributers nationally. He has developed specific initiatives to eliminate youth homelessness through the use of pro-bono surveying & legal expertise in conjunction with LandAid. The probono initiative has gone on to generate the equivalent of over £1million in contributions for LandAid charity partners. In In 2018 Matthew was fortunate to meet with HRH The Prince of Wales in relation to proposals he developed in this area which continue to receive political & industry backing & interest.
